First attempts off camera flash

Here are a couple shots I took this afternoon with off camera flash. It is a totally new technique to me. My son was less than happy to help. All critiques and comments welcome.

Great first attempt. Still have a few harsh shadows that need work. You might try a reflector to the opposite side to fill and soften those.

Yup, same as Rick and Don. A reflector to soften the opposite side shadows.

Try this site for strobe shots and tips and tricks. Very useful.

Hi, if you have time, can you please give some info, like your exif,
flash, placement of flash/power setting.

1/60, f/5.0, iso 100, 50mm. the flash is a yungnuo 568ex. the flash was set roughly 8 feet out and at 1/8 power.
