Hello everyone. I am new so the questions I have may seem easy but I have to ask. My ISO settings are 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, 3200, 6400. When I take a picture on the Automatic Mode it says the camera used a setting of 900, 1100 etc. How can I manually adjust the ISO settings to match that when on Automatic Mode. . Can I manually use an ISO of numbers in between say 400-800 for example.I hope this makes sense. thanks in advance

First thing to do is to take it off of auto. To start with put it on P for Program. Try setting your camera on 200 outdoors in bright sun and shoot. You will see the shutter speed and aperture in the view finder. If you are shooting with the kit lens then be sure to keep the shutter speed above 1/60 of a sec for now. It can be faster if you want but not slower. If you are shooting indoors and do not want to use the flash then try raising the ISO to 400 or even 800 and see what you get.
This is a easy way to break into shooting. Get used to shooting this way and we can work up from here.

While I am learning and can't get the shot right, I take a picture on Auto and read what the Camera used for the shot. It uses an ISO of 700, 900, 1100, 720 etc. I can only shoot at 200,400,800,1600 etc. how can i manually get the ISO at say 720 for example and not 400 or 800. thanks for your help.

You can't and it is really not necessary. the difference between 720 and 800 is almost nothing. You would never see the difference. Also remember the higher the ISO the higher the noise. Try and keep the ISO as low as possible and still get the shot. Try the program and it will do everything AUTO will do except set the ISO or raise the flash.
