bummer! I was reading up on some older lenses last week and went back today to find "The page you are trying to access does not exist or has been moved."

Here's the google cache:
Nikon | Digital Archives on Camera Products | Autofocus Lenses

nikon_lens_archive.gif

Here's the live page:
http://imaging.nikon.com/products/imaging/technology/archives/lens/
nikon_lens_archive_now.gif

Does anyone know if they moved it or if there is another archive somewhere else?

I think that it was too redundant. They appear to have mixed all of the AF lenses and grouped them with size and or usage.

Besides, it gave me something to do.

But you are not looking at the larger picture.

It appears they are getting ready to post a far larger line-up.

Using the Autofocus header for FX lenses perhaps?

Kinda makes me think they are phasing out the DX and going FX across the board.

Or perhaps a hybrid X lens usable for DX or FX.

Just a thought.

One thing I found kinda strange.. my D700 came with a 'new' body cap - I've seen the same dang body cap on Nikon bodies for 20+ years now, and this one says 'F Mount' on it - I opened the box, so I know it's a genuine cap, but why would Nikon print 'F mount' on their body cap unless they had planned something new perhaps?

I think that we are looking at a new series of body/lens combos.
The Nikon "X" Series.
The lenses will be backwards compatible with the DX and the FX bodies.
This is nothing more than speculation and logical derivation.
Bet we will see in June or July, 2011.

I have been making fun out of the canon users about lens mounts (3 versions) for a long time, I hope Nikon doesn't make me change my joking...

Well Pete, you are probably right, I'm keeping what I got. Maybe if I can give-a-way SELL more of my firepits I can buy more Nikon stuff...

DAMN! I wish I had know that you gave away/sold fire pits. I would have won/bought one of yours.
Oh well. Too bad, so sad.
Boo Hoo.

I just get soooo emotional over fire pits!

Okay, I'm over it.
