My son Olivier (14) had some free time and nothing to do so I asked him…

"No! You have no choice!"

…to take a camera with the new 105 Macro and do some tests with it just
around the house, arguing that he has to get his vision fit to see in macro,
subjects from the real world and at normal scale.

Less than 30 minutes later, he came back with 37 shots he took in the wood
shack, and these are his keepers:

Your son has a good eye Kodiak, I like the monotone color of the second shot better than the b&w version. It's like a cross between sepia and selenium tones - and it seems to work for me. The log and saw shot is clever also.
Cheers

Hello Bill,

"No! You have no choice!"
…is a sentence I have to use every now and then with my kids. No threat, loud voice,
or else, necessary. A look in my eye and they know I'm dead serious.

Sometimes a little push is required to get them going… but when they're gone, they're
gone. Olivier is very happy with what came out of my…

"No! You have no choice!"

So much so that he's talking about doing this or that… Let's see what tomorrow brings.

Have a good day…

BTW, may I introduce you my sons?

Hello everyone,

…some more em@ils, with more questions… here are some answers:

"Why did he frame the spiders so far aside?" (6 requests)
Because he is leaning with me everything we do in our studio: photography,
design, and typography. The spider shots may be cropped as the end user will
wish since the pixel count may go up to 36+MP with the D800E.

He has integrated the notion of negative space in design very well and in his
own creative way, …something I like to see in these shots!

"Did he take more pictures?" (2 requests)
A lot more! Visit our website to see more (link bellow).

"How old is he?" (4 requests)
He will be 15 in September 2013.

"Does he do anything else but photography?" (2 requests)
Sure, he's playing the drums, do a lot of sports like hockey, athletics, bowing and biking and
enjoys the long and mild summer evenings in the city with his friends.

"Does he have to do photography?" (1 requests)
Normally not. He's a kid. He's my kid and this guaranties his freedom. But since he goes
to a photography school (his decision), I make sure that the motivation is still alive.

Have a good day…
