85mm f1.4 AF-D

I was quite happy with my f1.8 Nikkor, but then this f1.4 presented itself to me and just could not refuse. In absolutely mint condition (I doubt it has been out of the box before) and at less than half the price of brand new lens, I was dead chuffed to get it. All I needed was a protector filter, which arrived today. So I dashed into the garden to give it a quick whirl, to see how good the depth of field is.

This niffty shot was taken at 1.1m from the flower @ f1.4 As you can see, some of the anthers are in focus while others are out of focus. I'll do a few comparison shots, when I get some spare time, between the f1.8 & f1.4

Very nice! I always have trouble with flowers that have exposed stamens with wide-aperture shots for that very reason.

I couldn't swing the cost of a Nikon 85mm 1.4, either AF version, but I did get my hands on the Rokinon version. They seem pretty comparable in image quality, but AF would be nice!

Dear friends, I do use the same lens. Needless to mention It's one of the finest nikkor. But at least my copy used to front focus. Had to af adjust. Just for your attention :)
