Recommend flash for D90

A friend of mine is looking for a flash to get his wife to use on her D90. Would the SB 700 be a good choice? There are a lot of good reviews on it but there was something mentioned about a problem with the battery cover. Opinions wanted, thanks.

Yes, definitely the SB-700 for the D90. I have no idea about any problems with the battery cover. Mine works flawlessly. You just have to know how to open and close it. Press in, slide, open. To close....reverse procedure. Simple as that.

Save yourself a couple hundred bucks and look at a Yongnuo YN-568EX or a Yongnuo 468-ii.

Nikon strobes are ridiculously over-priced.

Yes i just got the SB-700 a few weeks ago for the D7100 and its great.

Appreciate all the help from everyone. My buddy came over today and decided to get the SB910, so it should be on it's way today or tomorrow. I showed him both the SB700 and SB910 and he choose the 910.

Total agreement.

Out of production now I think but I've always had a SB-800 (got it for my D70 and its been paired with my D80, then D90, and now D7100 ever since)...
