Newbie here

Just bought the D7100 after years with the D70 $900.00
Did not buy the kit though.
I also bought the 55-300 VR $239
The 18-55 VR $118.
And 2 Sandisk 64 Ultra Pro @ $ 119.00 each

Questions are
1: Can I go home now
2: Did I do alright
3: Tell me I do not need anything else for awhile
I'm broke and my wife is mad
Got to love the internet.
Thanks For Your Help

Get your a-- home.
You done fine.
You'll need a sling strap and maybe some filters, we'll discuss that tomorrow.
You're not broke, you have "converted cash into tangible assets".
Put a squeezin' on the wife (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) when you get her home. This should get you out of the dog house or at least shorten your visit.

I would suggest a Lowepro brand bag. Great quality and the price is I think fair for such a quality bag. However, buy a bag with more room than you think you will need. Unfortunately I am on my third purchased bag in less than a year because I didn't buy enough bag.

Dang, slowpoke, that's a nice bag! I got a Lowepro myself but a smaller one. Sucker wasn't exactly cheap! But I'm starting to think that I didn't buy enough bag :(

I had the Lowepro 202 at one time. Great bag. Wish I had never sold it. But, I have 3 others, so I guess I should be satisfied. :) I still want another one, though! lol :)

I have the Lowepro Rezo 170 AW. It has it's own little rain coat, really cool! Other than that, I really do think that it's to small. For now it works great for me, I only have two lenses for the time being and they fit in this bag perfectly. Still lusting after slowpoke's bag........

Oops! Okay, so maybe that didn't quite come out right. LOL.

To bring it back to the OP, I think he needs to find a bag and a flash then go home..... I just hope he has something to take home to the wife, if there is a wife, to make up for spending that much money! Heck, I just bought a D3100, my first DSLR, and went home with new Bose headphones for the hubster to make him happy. Of course, that was two weeks ago and he doesn't know how much I spend on the camera or the headphones! LOL!

Welcome to Nikonites.

Sounds like you have a great set up. Other than the 2 x 64 gig cards, I think you made a great choice. I'm looking forward to seeing some of your work.

Yes
i do have a wife
she has shoes worth more than my D7100
should start receiving my Nikon stuff tomorrow
Two things that you can never have enough of
Bullets & Lens
Thought I would need a high capacity fast card
hope it is compatable.
I was hoping to take some Aspen color photos this Fall
will keep you posted
Will look into a flash, good bag and a close up lens to
photo my placer gold

To Jim... Have a look at the Think Tank gear for some good options (see my signature for ideas of things to look at). :)
