Folks,

I need your help understanding Nikon's d7100 HD video description. I've searched around a bit including wiki, and I don't seem to find a clear explanation.

The d800 movie performance:

HD 1,920x1,080 / 30 fps (frames per second)

The d7100 movie performance:

HD 1,920x1,080 / 60i ( ? )
....
HD 1,920x1,080 / 30p ( ? )

My question is this: Although I understand the HD standard of 1,920x1,080 @ 30 fps, what does the 60i or 30p stand for and how does that compare to the d800's fps notation?

Not mentioned in the Steve's digicam article is 1920 x 1080p @60fps. My camcorder does this and it's a noticeable improvement from 1920 x 1080i @ 60fps.

It's difficult to get a true unbiased opinion, but the art of photography dot com is good as well as the art of the image dot com.
