Could the Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 be the ultimate DX wide angle zoom?!

Saw this posted on Nikon Rumors this morning. An 18-35mm fixed f1.8 is pretty freaking amazing, particularly when you consider it's under $1000 (B&H has it listed at $799 pre-order). Works with the Sigma's USB Dock, so you can fine tune it to your camera. I've gotten out of the DX game, but something tells me that this may wind up in my bag for IR shooting with the D7000, or just walking around with the D90. I'll be waiting to see what the IQ is on it.
