Homeless man with his dog

I shot this photo of a homeless man and his dog back in early March around 9am with the F4S and 300mm f/2.8 ED-IF AIS Nikkor and Tri-X. I developed it "hot" (75ºF) to accentuate the grain. The point of using black and white film and accentuating the grain is an attempt to show the bleakness of this man's plight. I would not be at all surprised if he slept on that bench the night before.

Even with that treatment, the grain is still pretty tight. The only place where it is really apparent is in the out of focus background. In-focus areas are pretty much grain free. TX of today is much improved over TX of old!
