Old lens on a DSLR

I was looking at some older film cameras and came across a [FONT=Trebuchet, Trebuchet MS] FD 50 MM 1:1.4 ! will it fit on my D5100 manual focus only ! any comments [/FONT]

The link to the FD that you posted is for a Canon mount.

The older lenses will fit your camera as long as the lens is an F-mount and Ai or Ai-s. Non-Ai will have to be converted to fit the DSLR. Of course, everything is manual including exposure. . . you'll have to set it "the old fashioned way"

You could probably get a 50mm AF f/1.4 on ebay for less than $200 . . . Adorama carries them for about $289.

that lens will fit perfectly on your 5100, however you won't get any metering from the camera
