lens??????

Ok so I would like to start taking some videos with my d5200 but am working with a lens (55-200 nikkor vr lens) that dosnt focus close enough any suggestions on lens thats not gonna break the bank yet produce quality vids. Thanks for the help! !!

Did the camera come with the standard kit lens? 18-55?

No it didnt I only have the one lens

Then a good, inexpensive lens would be the 18-55. If you want a little more then look at the 18-105. Would be a lens you would leave on almost all the time.

What is it you are wanting to video...."The lens doesn't focus close enough" you say...Do you need a longer or a macro lens

Clarification needed on what you mean "doesn't focus close enough".
Do you need to zoom in from afar more, or are you too close and it won't zoom?

The former might suggest something like a 70-300mm might be a good buy, but the later might suggest you could do with a macro (micro) lens of sorts.

Or do you just need something with more range, in which case as already suggested the 18-55mm or 18-105mm would be a good starting point

If you are shooting videos, keep in mind that you should have a zoom lens that is a constant aperture, otherwise when you zoom your intensity values will change. There are no such lenses in the DX line and the only economical one in the FX line is the old (but still available) 80-200 f2.8:

There are buy it now ones for as little as $350-400.
