Last weekend Summit Point had its major vintage race for the year. This is one race I have wanted to go for a few years and now finally had the chance to go see it. This is also the first weekend I have used my D5200 and 70-200 2.8 for its intended purpose. I have 1,260 pictures to sift through, so here are the first 12.

A couple of pictures are slightly off, this was just a couple of grabs from my first pass through all of the pictures.

Overall, i'm really surprised how well so many pictures turned out, and it was a blast!

Very nice shots. You did well. Did you have credentials or did you shoot from spectator areas? Never been to Summit Point, maybe someday.

Thanks, I stuck to the spectator area. Though I did manage to squeeze in to an area by some corner workers for about 45 minutes till a track official told me to go away because I didn't have a media pass.

Turns 5-9 has a nice large open area that has some spots you can get pretty close to the track and has plenty of room to move around for different angles. Turn one is nice as is three.
