D300 battery grip on D600?

Does anyone know if the battery grip that fits a D300 would fit a D600?

You might get lucky within a line (i.e. 5100 & 5200 ... but not 7000 & 7100, oddly enough) but Nikon wants you to buy another one for the new camera. Hate that.

Buy another battery it's cheaper...

They pulled an apple move with their battery grips. Each one fits only one. It's like the cases for the iphone. They change ever so slightly (matter of millimeters) so you have to buy a new case. Sucks for the consumer, but smart for the business. That way when you want a new phone or a new camera, you have to buy another thing.
