d5000 Lens Auto Focus Compatibility

Greetings!

Hi Guys! Is there a Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4.5 dc macro HSM?!?

Saw this lens:

I was wondering if this thing would autofocus with my d5000. Cause most of the posts I've read is that the Sigma 17-70 DC MACRO HSM has a f/2.8-4 only, not a 4.5?

anyone tried and have encountered this? Buying out pretty soon.

That lens has no internal focus motor, so no... It will not auto-focus on the D5000.

Edit: To clarify, the non-HSM variant will not auto-focus on the D5000. You need to have a focus motor somewhere, obviously, to use auto-focus and since the D5000 does not have one in the body the lens must have one in order to use the auto-focus feature.

I was referring to the lens in the link with my original comment because THAT lens has no internal focus motor. The Sigma 17-70 DC MACRO HSM, on the other hand, does have an internal auto-focus motor.

So I should take the the other one with the f 2.8-4?...
