Compatible Lens

Is the AF-S Nikkor 50mm/1.4G compatible with the D5200? My manual says it is but Amazon says otherwise. Thanks.

An AF-S lens should work, it contains a focus motor. The older 'D' version of that lens, which is designated AF (not AF-S) will not auto focus on your camera.

That lens will work on your D5200.

Thank you for the responses. I had a second thought because I will be using it on a tight space and since i am using an APS-C camera, a 50mm would become a telephoto lens and I might have a hard time taking pictures. I instead chose AF-S DX Nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8G. By the way, I am just renting it. I want to try it first and see how it will turn out. The rent fee difference is only around US$12.
