Cannon Overlooking Lisbon from Castelo de São Jorge (HDR)

I decided to try a HDR because the cannon was shaded by a tree and I wanted to include the texture from the barrel. This was a real challenging situation with the brightness of the panorama in the distance. I tried both HDR Efex and Photoshop CS6 and preferred the results from Photoshop.

Thanks! The reasons I posted the image was to demonstrate a situation to consider HDR and that HDR doesn't have to be so over the top.

A question for all of the "big gun" shooters (D4, D800, etc.) is whether you would use HDR in this situation too?
