I'm wondering if anyone knows if I can change the way my D800 wakes up. For instance, I would like the multi-selector to cause the wake up instead of having to partially depress the shutter release button. So far I've not come across anything that will allow you to reassign the wake up function and I'd rather not lengthen the auto-meter off delay.

Changing the way a D800 wakes up

I would program the Fn button for matrix metering (or whichever metering you normally use). Then when you press it, it should ideally "wake up" the camera.
