first,, its a Gem in build, I do think that quality can vary,, they are delicate, and I would worry about how one is treated.

Is it super sharp, not really. but surprising for a mirror lens, and often on the used price is fairly reasonable.

I got one just for the uniquenss of it,

So,, not super flexible, and limited since locked at F8. but, can be fun.

If you don't want the donut bokeh - which would annoy me, you could try a refractor out Bower T-Mount 500mm F/8 Preset Lens SLY500P I hear they aren't as sharp as the mirror lens ... but I also heard the mirror lens varies wildly in quality, and older is better.

Edit: Here's a dpreview post with samples (he says Bower is the same lens in there somewhere) http://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/3207394 Got me thinking about it again lol for something to play with :)
