Natural light, indoor lighting or flash?

RAW or JPEG?

How are you setting you white balance?

Any color profiling turned on or are you in Standard mode?

Questions, questions, questions...

It looks like you're using flash, and flash can definitely wash out colors.

It's difficult to say whether or not these photos are showing the expected colors unless you have calibrated your monitor. It could be that when we view them over the internet, they're spot on. One quick and dirty way to tell is it may be a monitor issue is to look closely at the images in the camera's LED window. Zoom in and see if the color looks any different in-camera compared to your monitor screen. But mind you, this is far from an accurate read on whether or not your monitor is seeing the colors properly. Most OS's will come with a monitor calibration software that while not perfect can get you pretty close. re you running a Mac or PC?

Monitors are all so different and even small changes in the gamma of a monitor can really do a number on its ability to render colors accurately.

This particular photo seems underexposed. The paper under the reptile should be white and now it's grey. You probably forgot that the camera does not know what colour is what you are shooting. The camera light meter is thinking the paper or average should be 18% grey. So it's underexposing the scene. It's up to the photographer to interpret the scene and correct the meter accordingly.

ok, in the picture above, what were settings? It's hard to help you if we don't know the settings.

If it was at f/22 then as Marcel noted above the picture is underexposed; try it at f/5.6 or some lower number. Try it at different settings and see which one works.

well looks like your getting closer, try going fully manual and go to f/3.5 or the lowest it will go. Adjust the shutter speed until you feel it looks right. The camera you have is capable of taking amazing pics.
