D3000 photos out of focus

I have a D3000 which I have used daily for the past three years. All of the sudden a couple of weeks ago my photos started being out of focus. I have googled until I am sick, and tried many suggestions, but no luck. I was referred to this awesome forum.
Can anyone tell me what to do...I will give you all the camera setting information you ask for

I assume you're using the 18-55 kit lens? What focus mode are you on?

Please post some pics with the exif daTa.

If I were you, I'd take my camera to a local photo shop and try to isolate the problem. Try it with a different lens, try your lens on a different camera. There are so many factors that could be at cause that it's almost impossible to pinpoint from your simple description.

The first thing I'd try would be to clean the contacts between the lens and the camera. These sometimes get dirty and could prevent proper operation.
