I had a dilemma between the D7000 vs the D5200 several months but went with the second one because it has newer features and a lot cheaper. The D7100 is a great upgrade from the D7000 and would have went for it.

Refurb D7100 prices are really low now plus there are a ton of screw drive fast glass on ebay that won't work with the D5200. Say what you will about the D7200, the simple fact is that is the best thing to ever happen to DSLR shooting because it has driven the price of D7100s low enough that anyone can own one. The ability to use screw drive fast glass in addition to the cheap refurb price makes this decision a no brainer.
