Yes,,, the perfect tool/learning vehicle. enjoy enjoy enjoy,, oh,, and buy a few old manual glass just for fun,, they work great on that camera.
(want a secret.. buy some series E manual lens,,, they are bargains,, and sharp sharp sharp), And by today's standards built like tanks (this was before Nikon knew how to create lower quality optics).

Same here.It's a great time to get the D7000 for the price. I'm happy that I got one, instead of waiting for the D7100.
