Lenses

Looking at upgrading my lenses from the 18-55 VR. I love shooting prime (more creative in my compositions), but notice there isn't any wide (except the older 24mm 2.8) available.

Landscape, Indoors, Travel.

Looking at...

35mm 1.8

50mm 1.8

Tokina 12-24 f4 OR... Sigma 17-70 f2.8 macro

Mostly, I love shooting right at 35mm

Thanks for the advise!

well,, you answered your question,, rush and get that 35mm.. you don't state you camera, so don't know if you have to stick with the G lens.

and the 18x55 shoots so close.. but I switched to a 24-85,, built tougher, my 18x55 already squeeks, one of the cheapest build lens I have seen from nikon. Sharp yes, but not built that tough.

Grab the 11-16 f2.8 if you can! I purchased mine and have not swapped to anything else (mostly because I do indoor/landscapes/cars. No people)

Sharper than the Nikon 18-55? I have it at the moment and under certain situations i can't seem to get it to be sharp enough (landscape, infinity, f/8). Also considered the Sigma 17-70 and Tokina 12-24 f4.

Probably leaning toward the Tokina 12-24 f4 and the Nikon 35 f1.8
