Rasmus' various pictures thread

This won't be a 365 thread, or weekly for that matter. In between work, family and friends, my time to take photos and process them is quite limited, which means i might go a week or 2 without turning on the camera, and then shoot 500 pictures during a weekend.

The thread will probably show this :)

But for now i'll be posting a few of my pictures from the last year, the ones i like, and the ones that display my "problems", which i need to work on.

I try to shoot a lot of varied pictures, but i do have 2 recurring motives....my daughter(now 13 months) and my golden retriever. I like trying to capture that one good "action shot" of a dog racing towards a goal...i struggle a lot with focus on my d7000 with a sigma 70-200 though(i'll moan a lot about that)

And my first child, a lovely girl, i guess it's a given that she's in front of the camera a lot.

I'll try and avoid the snapshots, and focus on the ones that i feel are a bit different, and as mention the ones where i could use some help :)

This first one is about 2 weeks old, it's my daughter sitting on the floor playing with something. I liked the way the sunlight shone on her, and gave some nice shadow effects, especially with the background. 70 mm, f/2.8, 1/2000 shutter and iso 100

Only thing that really bothers me is the purple playmat in front of her, but she's not old enough to pose, so i have to watch for the good images.

Second one is an attempt at using my sigma 70-200 apo dg macro hsm(no os), as the advertised macro lens...it's not really macro, but it gets the job done for now. 150 mm, f/4, 1/320 shutter and iso 100.

Last one is hardly a masterpiece, on the contrary it displays my big issue with my current setup, lack of sharpness/focus on moving subjects. I did some test shoots on a ruler, to see if focus was off, and it didn't seem like it was...but real life application suggests that either i'm terrible, or something in my setup is.
150 mm, f/4, 1/1250 shutter and iso 100.

Comments, help, criticism and of course praise is highly welcome :)

I kept her in the shadows intentionally, trust me i have 1000's of pictures of her from the front :) I liked the calm nature of this one.

3 more

First one is taken this fall, on a small island we usually visit once a year, i just liked the way this picture could just as easily have been snapped 20 years ago, there's so much tradition in the fishing business.

Number 2 is a vacuum cleaner blowing up, i passed some people who had fun on new years day, i didn't quite get the colourful blast, but at least i get the shattering of plastic and metal.

Last one is a bit tilted unfortunately, but it's taken with my new tamron 17-50...i hadn't really realized how much more you can get in the frame with 17 mm, i've been using a 35 mm as my widest lens for a long time...i'll have fun with this one :)

Number 1 is Thea, anxiously waiting for the ice to melt, so she can go for a swim, rather than go iceskating :)

Number 2 was just a nice bit of light i thought
