Longboarding Slide Jam (part of why I got a DSLR)

Want to get your opinions on, the overall... quality(?) of this set of snaps I made in December. Had to struggle with Canon SX20IS and after this whole day I really wanted something faster, easier to set manually, etc. Basically what any basic DSLR can do like its nothing.

I like the shots but I would have put the people more to the right so they are entering the shot rather than centered. I also understand catching action can be difficult.

Mostly why they all look, well, they way the do- I had one frame per sequence really, so it was my timing and aiming while also hoping they'd do it close enough or at the right spot.
