Lens Recommendation

I recently went from the NIkon D90 to the D7000 and am shooting gymnastics with both the 24-70mm and the 70 -200mm. I am interested in a smaller lens to work with and would like some input on the following: the 10 - 24mm, 14 - 24mm, 16 - 35mm or the 17 -35mm...

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

The 16-35mm and 17-35mm are not really that much smaller compared to the 24-70mm f2.8. What is your definition of smaller lens? Did you meant a wide angle lens? First thing that came to my mind is the 35mm f1.8G DX lens.

17-55 f2.8 gets my vote

Sounds like you're after a wider lens, in which case I've heard many good things about the Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8

I second this. For a DX camera, the 10-24 is a better buy than the 14-24 etc since you lose some of that wide angle due to the smaller sensor.
