I'm very new to using a slr. So should I save my pictures as RAW or JPEG Fine?? I mostly take pictures of my girls (4 and 14 months).

mmm I shoot dual mode, and save both, but sounds like you are taking snapshots of your girls, so.. 98% of the time your JPEGs right out of the camera are most likely going to meet your needs.

I agree with Rick. I prefer shooting in RAW. It is easy to convert them to jpeg. Also, if I have to do a lot of editing of the image later, I prefer RAW. To me, it is like using a negative or transparency and producing a print from that.
