Pamela (my partner in crime) and I wanted to do a 'day of the dead' shoot and it seemed like the perfect opportunity to use my DIY continuous ring light.

We actually shot this a while ago but I wanted to share it here.

Camera & Lens:
Nikon D700 & Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VRII

Settings:
200mm, ISO 400, f/10, 1/125s

Lighting:
DIY continuous compact fluorescent ring light [positioned directly in front of subject with lens shooting through the center]

As you can tell, I love non-traditional catch lights. Makes life more exciting!!

This is one of those modifiers (and associated catch lights) that I use 2 or 3 times a year. Any more and it would lose its appeal or uniqueness.

Yikes, very scary! I too like the ring lights in the eyes

Nice photo, I have an LED ring light and I like the effect it gives on the eyes of the frogs I photograph. I need to make up a diffuser for it to lessen the harshness as you cannot really stare straight at it.
