Second try at night photography

Here is my second try at night photography


I got a lot more stars this time, I waiting a little longer after sunset, and i tried a different location

I still dont have my remote so Im limited to 30 seconds still


Was at 30 seconds ISO 400 and f/5 at 18mm

Very cool! I like it. The stars look really good for being a full 30 sec exposure.

Btw - there's an excellent book by Lance Keimig called "Finding your way in the dark". It's probably the best book ever written about night photography and I think you'd get a lot out of it.

Thanks, yeah i just realized I couldn't go any longer anyways, the stars will start moving huh

Also i was facing north, would that have anything to do with them not moving so much? Which way is that polar star?

Same here with pollution. I would have to travel a ways.Nice shot.
