I learned so many things regarding photography in 2016. I didn't finish my 365 due to being scatter-brained, but I kept shooting.
Thank you to everybody who liked my images, responded, critiqued and offered advice during 2016. You helped me more than you could possibly know. :cheerful:

Some things I accomplished, improved on, etc.: :)shame: Long, boring list. I highlighted the big 3 at the bottom.)
Used manual mode most of the time. (I used to stare at the camera settings kind of brain dead.)
Some decent Macro images
Sunsets
Moon images
Greatly reduced incidents of blown highlights
Reflection image
Birds in flight
Humor
Decent portraits of humans and dawgs
Low light images
Composed objects images
Greatly improved post processing
Wildlife stills (mostly birds, squirrels and ducks)
Frozen motion
A little motion doesn't hurt
Long exposures
Double exposures
Decent flash images
Bokeh (on purpose)
Inspired by images here on Nikonites (Maybe I can do that. I will try.)
Balanced light
Candle light
Low Key images
Asked a stranger I could take a picture
Used a model
Posted images on a website
*Asked by a friend to shoot images (He was so happy he used a few in a calendar)*
*Posted a way less than perfect image in the feedback section and didn't cry from the responses*
*Finally got the confidence to put a watermark on my images*

Very good. That's what it is all about. Learning. I do that too (learning), but my problem is remembering what I learned. :shame:

Thanks, Walt.
Me too, I am pretty forgetful. I am hoping repetition this year will get me not having to think so much. I am way too lazy for all that thinking.

OK, so I got off the couch and took a walk around the neighborhood.
First Post from last year's project was a crappy iPhone pic right before midnight vs the first post from this year's project, which is of a bird that didn't want to cooperate. Still, a much better start.

Thanks Danno,
Your images are outstanding. I loved that sunset image you posted in favorites.
Practice is the key. I have some goals for this year particular to flash and metering. Of course, every image is practice in composing, I just need to remember to look at the entire viewfinder while trying to get the technical stuff right.

Okay, I'll ask - was the 235 a typo or an attention getter?

I was going to ask the same @Marilynne but it looks like a typo, she will need one of the mods to correct it.

Haaaa, brain-fart. I fixed it, but the quotes from the first day carried the error down with them for posterity.
Also, you are correct. The thread title didn't change in the listed threads, just the title on the post changed. I didn't realize that.

I will ask a moderator to correct it. Thanks

Gray, nasty day today. I only had some bad squirrel images then I looked up and saw this staring at me. Also, this is a good opportunity for me to practice bounce flash. Yet another thing I couldn't do last year. I would have liked his eyes to show more, but I will take what I can get for today.

My goal is to create some decent images if I don't get out the door. I have did get off the couch for this. I had some issues with sharpness. This was the best one.
Used my D80 with the remote for the first time. Yet, another milestone achieved. Not sure why the EXIF got stripped.

I find if you post your pic's you need to go back one page then come back to the last page and the exif is there.
