I found this Cicada on the floor in my kitchen this morning when I was making a coffee.

He was being very cooperative, so I put him on my iPad screen for a few creative portraits.

After these photos, I took him outside and he flew up into the trees outside my house.

Lately I have been taking photos by shooting through my kitchen window with the Tamron 150-600, this avoids frightening the wildlife. I was worried the image quality would suffer because I was shooting through the glass.
It doesn't seem to degrade the photo much at all.

Young Rock Wallaby basking in the morning sun, on the log thats on the edge of the bush near my house.

Sounds similar to here Roy. We hear them, sometimes you see their old shell on a tree, but not often to see a live one.

They are up so high, you have to get lucky and find one on the ground or on a tree trunk. My Cocker Spaniel is an ace Cicada hunter. She could find them in the grass or dig them up.

They are always up high and out of site here as well, seems pretty rare to see those colourful ones , the more common ones are a bit bigger and brown. I don’t know how that one got inside my house , as we have screens on the doors and windows .

I swapped the Tamron 150-1600 with the Sigma 50-150 to get a shot of this Wallaby through the window.

I walked outside and saw 2 on the log on the other side of the house, I managed to get close enough for a few shots at 150 without scaring them off.
