Nice start with all of your images, Marcel. :)

I wish I had remembered to take some images like this one of the holiday lights. I already made arrangements to take a Sanctuary photo on Sunday right before they take down the decorations. The lights are still up front although they haven't lit them since Christmas. They will turn the string lights on for me.

I know I'm going to regret asking this but would like to know. How did you support your ball? :shame:........:loyal: Was it sitting on the ground on a little stand that comes with some of the balls? Or did you use some other type of support?

Hi Cindy,

I used the plexiglass support that came with the ball and put it on my office window sill. What I did in photoshop was to make a round selection of the interior of the ball, made a new layer with it and used the transform function to rotate it 180 degrees. In your case, maybe you could use a stepladder of something like that to support the ball.

I tried to support it in my hand, but with the low light, I was getting a too slow shutter speed for it to work.

Great idea to rotate the ball's image. I wouldn't have thought of that! When I take photos during Worship, I'm usually at ISO 5000, f/3.5-4.0 and a relatively slow shutter speed. Since I'd want to stop down (usually I'm at f/9 or higher for these ball images), I know I might need something else to hold the ball. Good call on a step stool or stepladder! Thank you so much for the information. :)

Very unusual! I like it. :)
Thanks Cindy. I thought it made my eyes searching for a sense of reality. The lines are all leading to more confusion and they just keep wandering inside the image until a sense of balance is achieved.

It's presently -30° C with the wind factor. So I played it lazy and took my morning shots from the warmth of my kitchen. 2 different cameras and lenses at about an hour interval.

Cold, but not cold enough to keep me inside.

The river was lit just a bit through buildings on the other side. It produced interesting light rays.

Cold day up here. Now I'm beginning to envy you Southerners...

Not trying to rub it in Marcel, but we just got back from a ten mile bicycle ride wearing summer clothes (shorts and t-shirt). The mornings are nippy (high 40's/low 50's). Some one has to live in the cold spots and I'm glad it's not me!!

And old 2012 shot that I re-processed yesterday as it was way too cold for me to go out shooting.

All the rain we got yesterday is frozen solid. I could almost skate in my driveway. So I guess my cat will be the subject of my daily shot. D7200 with 105 Ais.
