Figured I'd start a thread for some of my captures, rather than using the "Best of" threads for the different cameras those images were shot with. Since I'm not dedicated enough to commit to a 52 or 365 project, I'll post here when I think I have something interesting enough to share. :)

I'll start with a couple images from last night.

These are straight off the camera with no edits yet. Shot while wondering around downtown Des Moines IA last night:

Well .. apparently D500 SOOC images can't be uploaded. Trying tapatalk...

How long has that bridge been there? I haven't been to Des Moines since 1999,and don't remember seeing it, I've still got friends there, so I need to get back there soon

According to my google searching when I was trying to get more info about it...it was built in 2010. It’s had some construction going on for about the last 6 months, with the non-stick surface was separating, but last night it looked like everything was finished and no signs of the construction.

Charlie, these were certainly worth waiting for and it is a good time of year for night shots - thanks for sharing.

During my trip to Charleston SC earlier this month, I took the opportunity to play around with stitched panoramas a bit. I'm not entirely happy with these, but feel they are fair for just starting out.

All images where shot hand held, and stitched using Lightroom's internal merge functionality (not 3rd party software). Thoughts? I'll note the number of images used for each stitch below the image.

I like the last one the best.

The panorama of the Yorktown does look the most natural to me as well. The street corner looks to worst. With the bridge...I can’t pinpoint what doesn’t feel right about that image. Sharpness, or the focus point changed, or something.

With the bridge I think the big thing is the horizon is off.
