RON's A ROUND TUIT THREAD

A lot of members have threads here to which they post faithfully. I, on the other hand, promise to post only once in a while. The only thing I will promise is that all my posts will be current photos and they will all be taken with a Nikon camera. I will continue to post photos from my back files in the appropriate threads. If the moderators object to this they can move it elsewhere.
My taste in subjects is pretty catholic so you will see posies and buildings, landscapes and work projects and anything else that catches my eye. My current photo project is an attempt to get a decent cityscape of Pittsburgh for a tile collage that one of my clients is sponsoring. So from yesterday here is my first submission. _AAA1972 - Version 2 - 2014-03-30 at 17-56-53.jpg

It's not? Well, I may cut it down anyway. Probably going to have to try and reframe it. If I move to the right to avoid it I do not get a straight both rivers. It is still the very best place to photograph this city. Will just have to think of something.

Promise them two brand new shiny trees that aren't all dirty and old in exchange for their old used tree. How could they pass up that deal?

Least anyone think I am just another pretty face or even just a wannabe photographer, I do have other skills. Here is 2 pics showing elements of my last woodworking project. _AAA1981 - Version 3 - 2014-04-01 at 15-14-33.jpg_AAA1982 - Version 2 - 2014-04-01 at 15-15-18.jpg

Absolutely nothing to object to here. A lot of us including me do not post everyday. Great shot of the city. But I do agree, cut down the tree. :D

Second bite of the apple. Used my 55-300 to compress the image and arrived at the "golden hour". Still want a more dramatic sky and boats. To have the Three River's Fountain going would also be a plus. Just have to see what the client says._AAA2013 - Version 2 - 2014-04-06 at 19-23-49.jpg

Went out the other day and it was cold, rainy, and generally miserable. The blossoms on the trees were too high up and had closed against the cold but I still came home with one I like. This one is for you Michael because I used your beloved 16-85 _AAA2122 - Version 2 - 2014-04-15 at 13-08-45.jpg

Yay, finally a thread from Mr Ron! I love the mirror effect on the water in your second cityscape image. But both images are great.

Thanks Mai. The first cityscape was unbalanced. Crowded on the left with to much negative space on the right. So the lesson, I guess, is to take plenty of exposures and maybe one will be better than the other.

One is ALWAYS better than the other. Sometimes I take 10 images of the same to get really nerdy about what the tiny, tiny difference are, that makes the images just that bit better..

One rule I have come to swear by is to shoot flowers in soft, hazy light and on cloudy days. That being said, this shot breaks the rule but I like the kind of inner glow the harsh sunlight emphasizes._AAA2171 - Version 2 - 2014-04-20 at 14-30-39.jpg

I Really, Really like the wood work. Can you come over and do some woodworking for me? You are very talented.
That is our more mundane cabinetry. If I can dig out the photos, I will post some of my better pieces. Will have to scan the old snapshots into computer from my scrapbook. Thanks for the offer but I do less and less woodwork with every passing year.
