I'm slowly learning editing and honing my composition. I figured I'd post some of my shots up here to see what you guys think! This will usually have new photos most days. I shoot with a D3100, and all I have for right now is the 18-55mm and 55-200mm kit lenses. Hoping to expand that soon.

Time to play catch up.

Nice photos. You can probably remove those lines fairly easily in Photoshop or even in Elements rather than just burning the sky to hide them.

Love the lines on the bar glass photo.

Ah, I can see how it looks that way. My intention in burning the sky was to add contrast and make it a bit more dramatic. I also added a slight vignette, and that darkened that corner a fair bit. I removed the lines and replaced the photo in the post. Thanks for the heads up on that one!

After that indoor situation, I'm looking very heavily at the 35mm f/1.8 and the 50mm f/1.8. After checking on the images I took today, and they are almost all between 28mm and 42mm. So it's looking like the 35mm might be the way to go.

Since I was in the neighborhood, I stopped by the city's public library and brought my camera in with me. Construction on the library finished earlier this year, and it's a very photogenic building. I'm pretty certain I'm not quite done capturing moments there.

This first image was my first real attempt at split toning. I wanted to make a nice effect without overdoing it. I like how it came out.
