Very cool Jack
These are a couple of shots I took today of a "fuel farm" being built just outside of town. Taken using an octocopter with a D800 slung underneath, and a 17-35 2.8 lens from about 600 feet up.

I think the D800 is someone else's ! is that right Jack ?Great shots Jack, but I'm a little confused. Until very recently you lusted after a D300 which i thought you now have and now you're flying a D800 around with an octocopter. I obviously missed the bit in the middle.

Don't mean to jinx it, but am guessing all the equipment is covered under some kinda insurance!
Excellent shots Jack! Looks like fun work!
Jeez...this generated a lot of likes and questions! Thanks, guys.
The company name is New Heights Aerial Photography. (New Heights Aerial :: Aerial Photography). It's owned by my buddy Andy Isaak. It's his chopper and it's very high tech. He flies the chopper, I take the pictures using an rc radio. I have a video link to the camera (D800...his) and can see everything the camera sees. We keep my D300 (formerly his) as a backup should anything happen to the D800....until it's paid off.
Here's a shot with the camera and hexacopter (six rotors). We now use an octocopter (eight rotors). Much stronger and able to lift more weight.
