Tiny little lens, known in the UK as a 'pancake' lens. Lovely solid all metal construction, yet little over 200 grams. The very short physical length results in a poor 0.6 m closest focus....

Beautiful lens, lovely feel, great to use and perfect results. Slightly pricey but the quality makes it worth it. If you are a DXer, get one!

      Re: AF-S DX NIKKOR 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5G ED

My most used lens, expensive and not the most robustly built (all plastic made in China Consumer grade and will break beyond repair if you hit it or drop it) good from f4 at 10mm, with the difficult extreme corners coming in well by f8, OK at f5.6. Best central sharpness at f5, best overall aperture for corner to corner, f7.1- f8. Good contrast and colours and even better, 77mm polarisers - and other system filters - 'Z' size Cokin holder, with a little alteration - transforms dramatic landscapes. Best range in any ultrawide zoom, from any maker, equivalent to 15 - 36mm in old 35mm terms. Flare resistance good, barrel distortion fair for the angle of view at 10mm (less than my 18-140mm at 18mm!!), easily correctable, without wavy lines.
