Great camera! Comparable to the d90, but without some of the features (like the focus motor). No auto-focus on the video makes it somewhat useless for video, but can be usable.

      Re: D5000

I absolutely love this camera. it is my fisrt Nikon and I could not have picked a better starter camera. My first camera was a Pentax slrk20d and it was wonderful but to heavy for all day outings. so I switched to a canon rebel xs and hated it. now I have found that one camera the clicks with me. I love the bold color and the settings even though my favorite option is to play with and learn the AV shutter. if I had to choose one of the settings to stick with as if there was not other option I think it would be the landscape mode all though there is no real room for DOF with it since every thing will be in focus.

I had a chance to play with the new D7000 (not for me) and i gotta say that my D5000 will be with me for some time to come. I love my D5000

      Re: D5000

This camera is great although the video has no auto focusing motor. But it out performed me in the rain taking photo's. To me it's worth the price and it has more functions compared to the D-7000 and D-3100.
