Film might keep you "in the moment" but I'm certainly not going back. And, I certainly don't see how film "liberates" you. I spent too many years shooting 36 pictures per roll and NOT taking some pictures because I didn't want to run out of film.

I get the point that you can carry too much equipment, but too little is a bigger problem. Needing a particular focal length and not having it can be really disheartening.

Just my 2 cents. :)

No problem with paralysis but then I'm a minimalist by nature: If something in my gear bag isn't seeing regular and frequent use, I dispose of it one way or another.

As for film; if that's your thing, by all means enjoy it. In spades. I personally have no interest in going back to shooting film. Zero nostalgia there for me.
