Just received my YONGNUO 50mm F1.8 couple of days ago, and I have to say I'm quite impressed the build quality if very good pictures look crisp, shutter and auto focus is quick and the price is very good (£60 eBay brand new) the only flaw is no VR but for the money i cant complain..

some badly taken pics i took yesterday to test, i think i need to get to grips more with the f1.8 setting yet tho..

How's the build quality on that lens? Pretty solid, or cheap feeling?

The Nikon 50 1.8G isn't an expensive lens at all, but sounds like the Yongnuo is still about half that cost. (and not VR on the Nikon version either).

its really good tbh very solid, the review I read first said it's a million times better than the cannon version of the same lens which is what swung it for me to try it and I have to admit I'm very impressed especially for the cost, obj those shots aren't the best but that's more me not knowing when to and not to use the wider appeture, and not really looking what I was doing when I took the snowdrops ..
