I did a search and couldn't find anything on this lens and it got me to wondering how many users on here may not even have it. Anyway I thought I would go ahead and post some photos from it in case anyone was thinking of getting it. I love this lens and I think it is one of the best lenses for the money for wildlife photos. These were all taken with a Nikon D7000.

If anyone uses this lens please post some of your photos here.

Anyway here are some photos.

I have this lens and it is one of my under utilized lenses due to my limited activity and application for this lens.

It's a really nice lens, particularly for a DX camera. On an FX I'd like the option of throw a TC on there, and at f/4 I couldn't really get away with anything but a 1.4X. The 300mm f/2.8 is on my radar, but not for a couple years - need to save up and justify it with what I'm shooting. I've drifted away from wildlife as anything other than what I'd call "hobby photography", so it's not worth the investment at the moment. Perhaps if I traveled more.

If you'd travel more you'd probably want something lighter than the 300 2.8... Maybe get back that 28-300 that you still miss. :)

The travel I'm talking about is getting in the car and going for long weekends and excursions. You're absolutely right about the size of the f/2.8.

If I was flying more for work then the 28-300mm would have been back a long time ago. Hard to beat that and a single camera for unknown places and no camera bag.
