Topaz Sharpen AI first impressions

Wow.

I use Topaz DeNoise once in a while, and it always impresses me when I need it. So I gave Sharpen a try, dowloading it recently. Haven't really used it much yet, but I decided to give it a whirl this mornning on some wonky pics from a batch I took of our neighbor's foxes yesterday.

This was the worst of the bunch, and I gotta say I'm just as impressed with this program as I am with DeNoise.

@FredKingston Hey Fred, gotta thank you for all the advice you gave me when I first started playing around with DeNoise. Your insight as a Beta Tester has really helped me refine my technique - particularly knowing when, and when not, to use it. A lot of your advice I carried over to Sharpen AI now, and it's already helping there also. Thanks, bud! :encouragement:

While I think DeNoise AI is a better tool for its intended purpose than Sharpen AI is, I do use it from time to time when things are soft because of slightly missed focus or motion blur. I may be wrong, but I really think earlier versions of Sharpen AI did a better job with motion blur than the current version. Meanwhile, I love DeNoise AI and use it on quite a number of my files. The sharpening that it adds is really quite good, as well. Regardless, Sharpen AI certainly improves files to a level I never thought would be possible.
