post processing confusion.

I went back to lightroom classic. As much as I do not like paying for the subscription, I need a program that I am familiar with for a while until I can learn a new one. For some reason my edits are being exported without any exif data and as jpegs of varying sizes. some are a few hundred kb, and others are 5 meg or more.

How may I export my edits with the exif data? For those times that I want to print my shots, how can I export them as raw files and of sufficient size?

I posted some from my visit to the botanical gardens under photos for evaluation if you are interested in having a look.

I'm afraid I can't answer your Lightroom specific question, but I believe the reason your EXIF data is not showing up here is that you are posting your pictures as attachments rather than using the "Insert Image" icon in the toolbar. At least that's how it looked in your "A Day at the Local Botanical..." thread.

Lot more questions than answers...

First... When you Export an image in LRC you fill out the Export Dialogue box. If you're exporting an image to post here, or anywhere else on social media, you WANT to export as a JPG (Jpeg)... You NEVER post RAW images anywhere. RAW is for editing... NOT posting. There is a setting dialogue in the Export to determine the size of what you export as well as the file formats.

How are you "exporting" images from LRC ?

I was mostly thinking of exporting to have a large print made when I asked about using a raw format. Yes, I do complete a dialogue box. I will try the insert image. _DSC1584.jpg

When you want to print a large image... you'll still want to create a JPG file... except using the export dialogue, you'll want to plug in the lengthXwidth of your projected print, and select 300dpi ...

If you want to print a really large print... measured in feet... not inches... then depending on who you're sending the image to, they'll recommend a file format if they want something different than JPG... Depending on how large a file you start with, how much cropping you do, and how large you need to print... You might need to upscale the image using one of several available programs...

When you post an image, usually it doesn't show the EXIF unless you refresh the page. It's showing for me, too.
