Recommended Free Software / Red Eyes

Hi to the community.

Finally I started to use my new Nikon D5600 and had a lot of Red Eyes. Tried to use the Nikon software (Capture NX-D and ViewNX-1) but couldn't remove the red eyes. In Capture I read that this feature is not included and in View I checked the box without any results.

Can you please redirect me to a good free software?

Thanks in advance.

Many photo processing apps will do this, but if you want a application specifically for red eye removal I can suggest the aptly named, Red Eve Remover.

There's also an online tool for this.

GIMP :: Most powerful, Photoshop-like, free alternative. Comes with the steepest learning curve, IMO.

On1 Effects v10.5 :: Not the latest/greatest but a really good processing application.

Paint (dot) NET :: Don't confuse this with the MS Paint... Paint (dot) NET is serious medicine.

Google's NIK Collection :: NIK is no longer supported having been purchased by DxO, but the executable can still be had on some third party sites. Has an almost cult-like following and for good reason.

Photoshop Express :: Adobes free, entirely online processing "application"... Thought I'd mention it since it's so well developed.

Great... I already downloaded Gimp and giving it a try. Thanks Buddy...

Now to learn how to avoid the red eyes with the camera flash.

Gimp is an excellent free image processor. It can process both jpegs and RAW (through a simple plug-in or with free Lightroom-type programs like Darktable)-there is a red eye removal filter. There is a bit of a learning curve, but not too difficult for basic applications--as you go one you can learn advanced techniques. Darktable and Lightzone are excellent more advanced editors (similar to Lightroom), also free. All have lots of tutorial videos on Youtube.
