Adobe $1 fee when changing Credit Card

I decided to switch credit cards for my Adobe Creative Cloud subscription and was immediately charged $1 to the new card. Just wondering if anyone has experienced this? It might be a temporary charge to verify an active card, or it might be some type of convenience fee. I couldn't find any info on their site. Does anyone know?

I changed billing cards last month and had a nominal charge that I assumed was to verify the account was active and chargeable. I did not notice whether I got a discount off the next billing period. My billing is for the photoshop/Lightroom bundle plus Dreamweaver CC

Unless Adobe said specifically that they are going to charge you $1, then its certainly a temporary charge to test the card. I haven't changed my adobe payment lately, but many companies put a $1 temporary charge on your card when you store a new one. I watch our cards pretty closely and I get a text message for any activity at all. I get lots of $1 charges that disappear in a few days. They go away automatically if the merchant does not finalize the charge in a certain number of days. People using debit cards get upset if their cards get tested with higher amounts because it ties up their available cash.

Thank you Stan and Nick. My next statement won't be due for another month, but I will relay how this goes. This card is set up to receive notifications of charges so I was notified immediately after the change was made.

The card I had on the account got compromised back in the beginning of March and I had to change to the new number. Same bank, new card number, no $1 charge from Adobe. Could be because it was the same bank.

Thanks for the info, Jake. Mine was a different bank card. I'll just keep watch, and if it doesn't get removed, I'll check with Adobe. That won't be until some time next month.
