Alternatives to Adobe Article

I have tried many alternatives to Adobe over the years. Lack of time and energy learning a new system and workflow is my main reason for staying with Adobe.
I have added other PP software to my workflow, such as NIK or Topaz, but my starting and end point is always Adobe.
Yup.

I've tried things like DxO, Capture 1, ACDSee, Paintshop...

But the backbone of workflow is still Bridge/ACR/Photoshop. Plug-ins like NIK, Skin Finer and Topaz have survived, but only because they conform to, and work well within, that basic Adobe-based framework. These applications create a tightly-knit and efficient workflow I can't seem to duplicate any other way.

If anyone else listens to the PetaPixel Podcast, I agree with Sharkey’s take on the issue...if you’re already bought in on the LR/PS system, the amount of effort to learn a new system just to replace Adobe probably isn’t worth the effort. If there’s something you need to learn that can’t be done in LR/PS, or you are just getting started, it’s a different discussion.

My concern with Adobe is all about LR and the whole Classic name, and how long they continue to support this non-cloud product. But for now, it works for me, and and a price that I just don’t see other tools able to match.

I purposely didn't post an opinion, just the link to the article. I understand people's frustrations with Adobe, but LR and PS are the best thing going, IMO. I think some people who are switching JUST because they are frustrated with the subscription plan are going to regret it in the long run.

My workflow still includes LR and PS. My front end, though, is DxO. As the review Woody thankfully posted also states, their Prime NR and ClearView technologies are very compelling, to the point where I do not even consider LR/PS for noise and dust reduction.
