Which Crop?

Vertical

The bird appears larger and is quickly identified as the subject.

I think WEV's square crop is the best. The vertical crop would be better if the bird was moved slightly to the right, leaving a little more space on the left.

Normally, portrait would be my preference for a picture like this, but I must say the tighter landscape crop looks the best to my eyes!

Thanks all. That is as clear as mud. LOL. Just as I suspected. I agree with the comments of a tighter crop on the horizontal crop. And also with the comments of the vertical having the bird a little more to the right for a little more free space to the lest. I guess I will stick with what I already thought. I like both for different reasons. One reason I did not crop more on the horizontal was it is already cropped a fair amount and I wanted to leave as much there as I could for a clearer print. But I did print the vertical one to 11X14 and it is still very sharp even though it is cropped so much. So I am sure I could crop some more on the horizontal. Thanks again.
