Right Ive finally got a copy of Photoshop cc and got my head around opening layers so im after any basic tips for making hdr pics.

(obv tripod etc)

things like rough distance between shutter speeds etc (starting with a 3 pic effort)
what order to arrange them in Photoshop ie lightest on top/darkest on top?
is there a rule of thumb for opacity percentage for each layer?

im starting with some static sunflowers to practice with against a bright window.
all tips and help appreciated thanks.

I don't think the order matters but I'm not familiar with the HDR functions of PS. I use Photomatix when I want to do HDRs.

I'm thinking of stopping my CC subscription. LR is really peeing me off lately, and I think I can live without PS. Ever since LR CC 2015 is nothing but crashes, and molasses like performance. I'm getting tired of it I tell you!

I had had a lot of crashes of Photoshop CC after 2015 upgrade. Every second time I tried to run a Nik tool, it just crashed. I re-installed Nik tools again and it solved all the problems.

this is a test lightroom effort Ive just done reasonable result i think, given there's no effort in the original 3 pictures, they were simply to test this process out and its my first attempt at a hdr image

You might just need a hardware upgrade....more RAM? for instance?

My machine is maxed out at 8gigs. Besides, LR never was like this before the upgrade.

The latest version of LR has been changed to make more use of the graphics processors, I have read others have had problems with this. I think you can disable or tweak it in the Performance tab in Preferences.
Might be worth a try.

I have not had any problems with 2015 cc. You may have other problems that are interfering with PS CC2015

Disabling some background processes from task manager (windows) can help a lot. Some programs are sneaky little buggers and like to suck the life out of our computers with no benefit other than to collect usage data. Adobe is bad about that.
