Lynda.Com Price Drop For Previous Subscribers

I just wanted to let you know that Lynda.com has reached out to me with a 40% off offer. I had previously subscribed to Lynda for a month, and I guess this is their way of getting you back. I re-subscribed as they now have a few Lightroom 6 lessons. For those that haven't been exposed to Lynda, it is a very detailed subscription website that has lots of Photoshop, Lightroom, and even a Nik Tools leson or two to watch and learn from.

You can watch and save the videos and then study the lessons at your convenience. That will save you some cash and still give you the benefits of what they have to offer. Lynda far exceeds the videos you will find on Adobe's site. More in depth, and very detailed lessons. I have learned a lot by watching their lessons. It's definitely worth the free month that they give you in the beginning. For those who want to record the lessons, I only know that Firefox has a plug-in that is required for viewing and using. Definitely worth it. Tape a few lessons and then cancel if you wish.

I'm not currently subscribed. Ican still record the lesson previews from the main page, but I can't tell you anything beyond that.

Ok.....I figured it out. Before I was using Download Helper in a older version. My Download Helper updated and it changed the way I was downloading the lessons. I figured out how to use the updated DH and it now works as good as before. Sorry for the confusion. Thanks @BackdoorHippie and Horoscope Fish. All is good.

I wonder if the new offer is why they are having problems accepting my payment info to start a trial. Tried with both Chrome and Safari, but the applet that does all the fancy checkbox validation keeps crashing after I try to add credit card info. Tried Chrome and Safari both, but if they have this much trouble accepting payment, I'm not overly optimistic that video playback is going to work out so well. I'll try again later and see.

Looks like Lynda.com is using Zuora.com to process their billing/subscription data. Zuora is using a compromised/untrusted SSL certificate, which seems to be why both of my browsers have rejected the site. Sounds like I'll be waiting awhile before pulling the trigger.
